Will These Aphrodisiac Foods Put You In The Mood?
Since ancient times aphrodisiac foods have been sought out to alleviate sexual fears and enhance libido.
While no scientific evidence exists to support any of these foods, the ancients documented many foods that were thought to
have aphrodisiac properties.
These foods include basil, carrots, orchid bulbs, fennel, pistachios and river snails to name a few.
In modern times, aphrodisiac foods tend toward those commonly procured and readily eating.
Even if they don't serve to get you "in the mood", they still taste pretty good!
On of the most popular aphrodisiac foods is chocolate.
Long associated with love, chocolate has chemicals that affect neurotransmitters in the brain.
Chocolate is full of anti-oxidants and the emotional satisfaction in eating a piece of gourmet chocolate can help boost
the immune system.
Raw Oysters is another popular food thought to increase libido. Documented by the
Romans in the second century, oysters are nutritious and loaded with zinc which is essential for men's sexual health.
Many believe that the association between oysters and increased sexual drive is due to the fact that the oyster looks
like female genitalia.
Garlic and spicy foods are also thought to be among the list of aphrodisiac foods.
These hot, spicy foods are though by some to lead to hot, spicy encounters!
I don't know about that but I'm pretty sure that if you are using garlic as an aphrodisiac,
you'd better make sure both you and your intended partner are eating it!
