Worried About The Calories In Wine?

They say a glass a day is good for you, but should you be worried about the calories in wine? Well, if you're thinking about adding a glass a day, you'll have to compensate for the added calories or risk developing a larger middle. Since the calories in wine are moderate, that should only be a matter of adding a bit of exercise or taking a couple of less bites of dessert.

That probably depends on your own personal habits and preference. If you have 1 drink a day and are hell bent on continuing to do so, perhaps making sure that drink is red wine will be more beneficial to your health. If you don't drink at all, starting now hardly seems worth it.

    To combat the calories in wine for an average 100 calorie glass one has a couple of options. The first is to exercise more. To burn off 100 calories, you could cycle for 10 minutes, walk for 15 minutes, dance for 20 minutes or garden for 30 minutes. The other option is to eat less - you could switch to low fat mayo or use mustard instead, go with one less slice of cheese on your sandwich, switch to low fat dressing or skip the morning donut which would elimate a lot more than 100 calories!
