Food and Chardonnay Pairings
Picking what wine to go with dinner can be confusing, but there are certain food and chardonnay pairings that go quite well together. Although the steadfast rule of red wine with beef and white wine with chicken is still taken as gospel by some, wine and food pairing is really more up to your individual taste. It may take some experimenting, but you may find that you like white wine with steak!
Some food and chardonnay pairings you may discover quite by accident. Experiment with at your dinner table and you may find a pairing that is perfect for your taste. But if you've got guests coming and you want your dinner to be perfect, you may want to stick with some tried and true pairings that you know will be a smash hit.
Typical food and chardonnay pairings dictate that if you want to serve chardonnay, you'd better stick to the white types of meat. The old adage of white with chicken does hold true in this case. That isn't to say that other wines wouldn't go well with chicken, but if you want to stay on the safe side you may want to stick with this age old rule.
Some examples of food and chardonnay pairings include - any style of chicken (of course), pasta with a cream sauce, Seafood as long as it is in a light sauce and veal. If you are having appetizers, chardonnay goes great with cheddar, gruyere and provolone.
These days people pair wines with any type of foods they want. A good wine can really enhance a meal so it's silly to stress out over if you have the right type of wine - just drink, eat and enjoy!
