How Delivery Works

Lobster grams are delivered overnight (for live) and 2nd day (for frozen), so when you select a live lobster delivery, make sure you pick the delivery date carefully so that someone will be home to receive the lobsters and store them properly. The driver will leave the lobsters if no one is home but, you don't want them sitting on your steps for too long. You can store them in the fridge for a day or 2 until you are ready to cook them. They should be cooked live, although they may be sluggish and appear dead. Cook them up anyway and inspect the meat, if it is firm then the lobster is good to eat - if it is mushy like cottage cheese discard it and contact the merchant you purchased it from. Frozen food is delivered 2nd day so make sure you are around so you can receive the package and put it in the freezer before it thaws.
